About the role
You will own the full recruitment lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of organizations, with a pronounced emphasis on operations and roles within the Deeptune business unit. You are responsible for translating ambiguous hiring needs into precise search strategies that attract high-caliber candidates. This position requires high ownership and decision-making comfort in environments with incomplete information while establishing resilient processes that perform under pressure. You will directly support General Managers in identifying performers who will contribute to the world's leading AI laboratories. Your work will play an instrumental role in scaling one of the fastest-growing companies in the AI sector. This role represents a foundational 0-to-1 motion to build the recruiting foundation for the future of Mercor.

What you'll do
- Execute end-to-end full-cycle recruiting for roles spanning marketing, finance, people operations, and operations with a pronounced focus on operations hiring.
- Partner with business leaders to map out evolving needs and implement continual process improvements that enhance hiring efficiency.
- Build top-of-funnel pipelines using creative outbound sourcing, talent intelligence, and Mercor's proprietary product, including structured screens and automated work samples.
- Coach hiring managers and interviewers on structured interviewing techniques, accurate leveling, and rigorous decision hygiene.
- Operationalize hiring systems by tracking and optimizing key funnel metrics such as pass-through rates, time-in-stage, and source yield.
- Champion uncompromising speed and quality by driving service level agreements for same-day debriefs, fast offers, and exceptional candidate experience.
- Build employer brand through targeted campaigns, employee referrals, and events that attract top-tier engineers and operators.
- Represent Deeptune and Mercor externally in a competitive talent market, acting as a primary brand ambassador.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of dashboards, metrics, and process automation within Ashby and other recruiting systems.
- Refine technical recruiting methodologies as the Operations organization shifts to hire more frequently from technical backgrounds.
Requirements
You must possess prior experience with full-cycle recruiting for both individual contributor and leadership roles across diverse functions. You have a proven ability to build and scale hiring systems, identify key performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes. High motor and an outcome-oriented approach are essential, as Mercor operates in hypergrowth mode where hiring is viewed as a key strategic driver of expansion. Strong communication skills are required to efficiently collaborate with General Managers, Account Leads, and internal leadership at all levels. Familiarity with a wide range of roles is necessary, with an emphasis on GTM, Strategy, Operations, and ideally some mastery of technical roles such as Software Engineers or Functional Domain Experts. You must demonstrate confidence in representing the Deeptune and Mercor brand to top candidates and possess the ability to quickly adopt new tools and systems, including Ashby. Previous experience with Applicant Tracking Systems like Ashby is preferred, and you must be capable of mastering these platforms rapidly.

- You have experience as a founding recruiter or as an early-stage startup builder who has worn multiple hats in a high-growth environment.
- You have a demonstrated interest in the human data or AGI space and understand the mission of organizing human intelligence.
- You possess technical recruiting expertise, recognizing that Mercor's business is increasingly technical, with a growing percentage of technical professionals hired into client-facing operator roles.
Practical notes
You will work in-person five days a week at our new office in the heart of the Financial District in New York City. This role does not include travel requirements. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this position. Please note that this role is based in an office environment and requires adherence to Mercor's in-office schedule.
