About the role
Merantix is an AI venture studio and investment firm that builds and backs early-stage companies. We are seeking a Visiting Analyst to join our investment team for a 6-month term beginning in September 2026 to support our transition into co-investing in AI-driven startups. You will operate at the intersection of technical diligence and commercial validation, owning the narrative behind promising AI ventures. This role grants you direct exposure to how an AI venture studio evaluates, structures, and supports groundbreaking technology teams. You will be responsible for transforming raw founder pitches into structured investment memos that withstand rigorous internal scrutiny. The position requires you to act as a primary conduit between technical innovators and strategic decision-makers within our portfolio. You will own the end-to-end assessment of potential targets, ensuring alignment with our thesis on applied artificial intelligence. Ultimately, your analysis will directly influence which startups receive the operational support needed to scale.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Scout for and engage with founders of emerging AI startups to uncover high-potential opportunities.
- Conduct initial screenings and detailed assessments of potential investment targets to validate market fit and technical feasibility.
- Execute due diligence tasks and daily investment operations to ensure compliance and thorough analysis.
- Collaborate directly with our co-founders, Rasmus and Adrian, to align investment strategy with firm objectives.
- Refine the internal processes of our AI incubation platform to improve evaluation and onboarding workflows.
- Support our Entrepreneurs-in-Residence as they evaluate new business cases and prepare for cohort launches.
- Synthesize complex technical documentation into accessible formats for non-technical stakeholders.
- Prepare decks and briefing materials for investor and partner meetings to communicate value propositions clearly.
- Monitor competitive landscape shifts to identify emerging threats and opportunities within the AI sector.
- Maintain a dynamic repository of industry data to inform sourcing and decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Hold an Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university, demonstrating academic excellence and intellectual rigor.
- Possess a Professional background in venture capital, management consulting, technology firms, or entrepreneurial settings.
- Exhibit the Ability to manage multiple priorities and organize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Show Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions seamlessly.
- Ensure Availability for a 6-month commitment starting in September 2026, with full-time dedication.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity when tackling ambiguous and complex problems.
- Bring a meticulous attention to detail to every stage of the investment process, from sourcing to closure.
- Display cultural intelligence to navigate diverse teams and perspectives within a global startup ecosystem.
Nice to have

The role is based in our Berlin office, requiring your physical presence during standard working hours. This is a fixed-term engagement of 6 months, with the potential for extension based on performance and team needs. Please note that this position is not eligible for remote work or relocation support. Applicants must be able to commute from or reside in Berlin, Germany, without requiring visa sponsorship for the duration of the contract.
