Lifecycle Growth Consultant
Job description
Lifecycle Growth Consultant at Mechanism Ventures.
About the role
The Lifecycle Growth Consultant is a senior lifecycle operator who owns the strategy, systems, and revenue behind customer journeys across Mechanism's portfolio of direct-to-consumer companies. You are not waiting for a brief and you are not building another abandoned-cart flow from a template, you are a senior-owner engagement brought in to diagnose, design, and build the lifecycle engine that compounds revenue across a portfolio fast. Given a business goal, you develop the strategy, build the system, and own the result, whether that means designing a new retention strategy, repairing deliverability, warming a domain, rebuilding customer segmentation, standing up a sophisticated experimentation program, or identifying an entirely new way to increase repeat purchase behavior. The right person understands DTC deeply, stays ahead of what is changing, and knows how to turn Shopify, Klaviyo, customer data, and AI into measurable growth, operating with autonomy and accountability for outcomes rather than hand-offs. This role sits at the center of Mechanism's system for building profitable, reinvesting companies with speed, precision, and minimal waste.
Key facts

- Create high-cadence testing programs across messaging, offers, timing, creative, frequency, and journey structure.
- Use Shopify, Klaviyo, and adjacent platforms to connect customer behavior with lifecycle execution and activation.
- Partner with growth, creative, engineering, and company teams to ship campaigns and technical improvements quickly and decisively.
- Use Claude and other AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, personalization, copy development, QA, documentation, and experimentation.
- Translate performance data into clear decisions about what to scale, change, or stop based on empirical insight.
- Codify successful strategies into reusable playbooks, prompts, templates, and automations that compound value.
- Provide concise written communication and clear artifacts so that centralized teams can move fast without you.
- Own end-to-end lifecycle execution while collaborating with centralized support across growth, engineering, design, creative, analytics, and operations.
- Drive measurable lifts in repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value, engagement, and retention through system-level improvements.
Requirements

You must be fluent in Shopify and Klaviyo ecosystems, including event-based architecture, data modeling, and advanced segmentation. You must understand deliverability fundamentals, including domain authentication, list hygiene, and sender reputation management in commercial email and SMS. You must have a track record of using AI tools like Claude to accelerate analysis, copy, and system-building without sacrificing rigor. You must be able to read performance data, diagnose root causes, and translate findings into concrete actions and documented playbooks.
