About the role
The QA/QC Manager at Mechanical Solutions plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within our manufacturing processes. What you'll do
- Lead and manage the QA/QC department, ensuring adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on quality metrics and performance to senior management, highlighting areas of concern and recommendations for improvement.
- Train and mentor QA/QC staff to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Manage the documentation of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure that materials meet quality standards before they enter the production line.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for non-conformance issues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Facilitate quality improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing to enhance operational performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries from customers, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and relevant industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Proven experience in leading quality improvement initiatives and managing QA/QC teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, statistical process control, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the mechanical solutions industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA) is preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of software tools for quality management and data analysis.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a QA/QC department.
- Familiarity with the mechanical solutions industry and its specific quality challenges.
