What you'll do
- Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes, materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality metrics and performance indicators, analyzing data to drive decision-making and process enhancements.
- Manage the QA/QC team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team is equipped to meet quality objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to quality control processes, including inspection reports, corrective action plans, and compliance records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries from clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for non-conformance issues, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of recurrence.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, adapting quality assurance practices to meet evolving standards and best practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Coordinate training programs for staff on quality standards, processes, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality awareness within the organization.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain, conducting supplier audits as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proven track record of managing QA/QC processes and teams, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar standards.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement tools.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a similar industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
