In this pivotal position, you will take charge of the primary recommendation engine that influences the profiles seen by millions of users each day. Your focus will be on blending machine learning with insights into human behavior, ensuring that our matching system is not only effective but also feels intuitive and fair to users.

- Oversee the entire process of enhancing recommendations, from pinpointing issues to achieving measurable outcomes.
- Work closely with data scientists and engineers to enhance ranking algorithms, personalization features, and model inputs.
- Develop and sustain a product roadmap, making informed decisions about trade-offs and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Utilize behavioral analytics, user feedback, and experimental data to guide product strategies.
- Effectively communicate the product vision and results to both technical teams and executive leadership.
- Ensure that the recommendation system is equitable, secure, and in line with the organization's core values.
- Analyze user interactions and feedback to continuously improve the recommendation engine.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement innovative features that enhance user experience and engagement.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to keep the product competitive and relevant.
- Advocate for user-centric design principles throughout the product development process.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer support to align product features with user needs and expectations.
- Conduct regular performance assessments of the recommendation system to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in product management, ideally with a focus on machine learning-driven consumer products, ranking systems, or personalization features.
- Demonstrated capability to independently manage a product area and drive significant metrics at scale.
- Technical proficiency that enables you to guide discussions around model inputs and ranking trade-offs in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Experience in developing matching-based products, such as social media feeds, marketplaces, recruitment platforms, or dating applications.
- A keen interest in the ethical implications of algorithmic systems and the human aspects of product development.
- A well-defined viewpoint on how artificial intelligence tools can enhance the speed and quality of product development.

- Familiarity with A/B testing and other experimental methodologies to validate product hypotheses.
- Experience in working within agile development frameworks.
- Knowledge of user experience design principles and best practices.
