About the role
Join the ML/AI Squad at Match Group's Everyone and Everywhere (E&E) division to develop and deploy advanced machine learning and AI solutions. You will work on strategic projects that directly enhance user experience and address critical business challenges for millions of daily users across a portfolio of leading dating products. This role involves close collaboration with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to build the next generation of AI-driven features.

What you'll do
- Design and develop AI prototypes that can transform user interactions.
- Collaborate with product owners and data scientists to define requirements and deliver production-ready ML/AI solutions.
- Contribute to projects involving Large Language Models (LLMs) to support business growth and improve dating experiences.
- Write optimized, scalable, testable, maintainable, and observable code.
- Build scalable solutions for deploying machine learning models into production environments.
- Develop tools and pipelines for tracking models and experiments.
- Design and implement data pipelines to handle large-scale real-time data processing for models.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of ML models, including versioning, training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Maintain and operate algorithms, code, and models in production, monitoring for anomalies.
- Research new tools and technologies to accelerate development and deployment cycles.
- Establish best practices for machine learning engineering within the team.
- Promote a data-driven culture and share expertise in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science or related scientific discipline with significant engineering experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer with algorithm expertise, Data Scientist, or similar role.
- At least 3 years of experience building and deploying ML pipelines and solutions in a commercial setting, working with product teams, and deploying LLM-based features.
- Proven experience supporting data scientists in developing, evaluating, and deploying ML models.
- Extensive knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong programming skills with a track record of deploying solutions into production, including scaling ML models.
- Solid understanding of mathematical modeling, statistics, inference, Bayesian methods, graphical models, network theory, likelihood estimation, Monte-Carlo methods, and sampling theory.
- Experience optimizing ML models through techniques like parallelization and batching.
- Ability to quickly learn new techniques and think creatively about problem-solving.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Python and related data science and machine learning libraries.
- Capable of working independently on large projects or collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to understand the business context of technical work and prioritize research accordingly.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud services.
Nice to have
- Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and NLP applications.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience in the dating or social networking industry.
- Understanding of ITAR regulations and compliance considerations.
