About the role

Bamboohr is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance professional to join our dynamic team in Mohali, Punjab. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. As a Senior QA, you will be responsible for developing and implementing testing strategies that enhance our software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure that our products deliver exceptional user experiences.

What you'll do

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for various software applications, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide feedback on potential quality issues early in the development process.
• Implement automated testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual testing efforts.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure applications can handle expected loads and identify bottlenecks in the system.
• Lead and mentor junior QA team members, providing guidance on best practices and fostering a culture of quality within the team.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and work closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution of issues.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to provide insights on quality implications and testing considerations.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in quality assurance to continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring they are up to date and easily accessible.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that quality is maintained throughout the software delivery process.
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospective meetings to provide input on quality metrics and help shape future development efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on both manual and automated testing.
• Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG, with a solid understanding of scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify root causes of defects.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or CircleCI.

Nice to have

• Experience in mobile application testing, particularly for iOS and Android platforms.
• Understanding of security testing principles and tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and tools.
• Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Knowledge of accessibility testing standards and tools.

Skills & tools

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.
• Proficient in test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Familiarity with database testing and SQL for validating data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
