Mid-Level Visual Designer
Job description
About the role
At Marketwake, we are storytellers, strategists, and creators who are passionate about turning visions into dynamic realities. Our work spans digital marketing, branding, and creative design, and we thrive on pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are looking for a Mid-Level Designer who shares our passion for innovation, creativity, and excellence to join our growing team. You will own meaningful design challenges from discovery through delivery, shaping how clients see and experience their brands. This role gives you the freedom to experiment with visual language while solving real business problems through thoughtful design. You will translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals that resonate across digital and physical touchpoints. As part of a collaborative studio, you will contribute not only execution but also creative leadership on cross-channel projects.
What you'll do
Conduct visual design execution across web, social, email, and print to ensure pixel-perfect, high-fidelity outcomes aligned with strategic goals. Translate abstract concepts into concrete visual narratives through concept development, storyboarding, and iterative sketching during early discovery phases. Synthesize input from strategy, research, and client feedback to craft cohesive visual systems that support campaign objectives. Collaborate with developers, writers, and strategists to integrate design into working digital products and consistent brand ecosystems. Present design rationale to clients and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating decisions and adapting solutions based on thoughtful critique. Maintain and evolve brand identities by rigorously applying guidelines while introducing thoughtful refinements that strengthen recognition. Own project workflows from initial mockups to final delivery, coordinating with senior creatives and the Art Director to meet deadlines. Support the creation of user-centered interfaces by producing wireframes, interaction flows, and design systems that inform UI implementation. Continuously explore emerging tools, typographic trends, and visual techniques to raise the standard of Marketwake's creative output. Mentor junior designers by providing constructive feedback, reviewing work, and modeling best practices in organization and craftsmanship.
Requirements

Build polished, production-ready design files for both digital and print with attention to typography, hierarchy, and color theory. Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking, showing the ability to generate multiple directions before arriving at a refined solution. Communicate design intent clearly through verbal explanations, sketches, and structured visual presentations. Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback while maintaining a distinct creative point of view. Manage time and priorities across concurrent projects, meeting agreed deadlines without compromising quality. Show a documented commitment to learning, evidenced by ongoing study of design trends, tools, and industry practices. Work comfortably in a hybrid environment, splitting time between focused independent work and in-person collaboration in Atlanta.
