Key Responsibilities

You will design end-to-end solutions for universal search. This work spans RMS, CAD, and other core components. You will collaborate with Product and engineering teams. The goal is a scalable, secure, and user-friendly solution across domains. You will extend platform configurability and connectivity. You will integrate new search data sources. AI-powered coding tools will accelerate development while maintaining quality standards.

You will review pull requests related to authorization layers and index mappings. You will provide architectural and performance-focused feedback. This feedback will improve clarity, maintainability, and system resilience. You will act as a release manager. You will coordinate deployment logistics and validate release readiness. You will ensure updates deploy to production without downtime through clear communication.

You will own the end-to-end delivery of features. These features support permission-aware global search filtering. You will align closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Design. You will move from technical feasibility to post-release monitoring. You will mentor junior engineers regularly. You will pair on complex debugging sessions. You will coach teammates on managing technical debt while meeting roadmap goals.

You will participate in on-call rotations. You will triage spikes in failed search queries. You will lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts. These efforts will drive improvements in system observability and alerting.

Required Qualifications

The team seeks a senior backend engineer. The engineer must have at least four years of professional experience. They must operate with autonomy in a distributed systems environment. Specific technical skills are mandatory for this role.

You must be proficient in Java or TypeScript/JavaScript. You must have strong backend development experience. You must have experience integrating third-party systems. This experience must support search functionality across domains. Familiarity with event-driven architectures is required. You must use Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, or Kinesis.

You must have strong experience with AWS services. These include Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, Aurora/RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch. Prior experience with AI engines is required. You must use these engines to increase development velocity and deliver results. A solid understanding of indexing strategies is essential. You must understand document schema design and query optimization.

You must be comfortable with CI/CD workflows. You must work with Infrastructure-as-Code tools. This is within a serverless-first, microservices-based architecture. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-tenant platforms is a plus. Large-scale search product experience is valued. Familiarity with public safety or regulated domains is a nice-to-have. Knowledge of security best practices around data access and query auditing is also preferred.
