What you'll do

• Design and develop electrical systems and automation solutions tailored for lithium extraction processes, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to integrate automation systems seamlessly into existing operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of new electrical and automation technologies on production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems and automation equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operation.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for electrical designs, control systems, and automation processes to support compliance and future upgrades.
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs for electrical and automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and electrical engineering, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems.
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff on the use and maintenance of electrical and automation equipment, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring that electrical and automation components are delivered on time and within budget.
• Analyze data from automation systems to identify trends and areas for improvement, contributing to ongoing process optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering or automation within an industrial setting, preferably in the mining or resource extraction sectors.
• Proficiency in designing and programming PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and instrumentation.
• Experience with CAD software for electrical design, such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical safety and automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the lithium extraction or battery manufacturing industries is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration into industrial processes.
• Certification in relevant electrical or automation engineering disciplines, such as PMP or Six Sigma.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and software for process optimization.
• Experience with safety management systems and practices in industrial settings.

• Proficient in programming languages commonly used in automation, such as Python, C++, or similar.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
