Mactores is on the lookout for a Full Stack Product Engineer Intern to become a vital part of our team. This internship presents an exciting opportunity to work on the Aedeon platform, where you will engage in the development of new features while collaborating with seasoned engineers, product managers, and designers. This role is designed to provide you with practical experience in product development and testing, all within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Collaborate with senior engineers to assist in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Aedeon frontend, utilizing React and Next.js.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to convert requirements into operational features, ensuring they are successfully deployed and thoroughly tested.
• Engage in sprint planning sessions, manage the product backlog, and participate in retrospectives to foster a product-centric approach.
• Learn about the entire feature lifecycle, from initial development through deployment and subsequent validation after release.
• Break down tasks in alignment with sprint schedules and proactively identify any potential obstacles that may arise.
• Observe and understand how the team collaborates with DevOps and QA to uphold clean and repeatable release processes.
• Gain insights into test-driven development by writing test cases before coding, with guidance from mentors.
• Contribute to the creation of test cases for the features you develop, addressing functional flows, edge cases, and regression scenarios.
• Familiarize yourself with AI-assisted testing tools and automated test suites that are integrated into our CI/CD pipeline.
• Write clear, well-documented code and submit pull requests for review, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
• Document your work thoroughly, including features, test plans, and decision-making processes, in a way that is accessible to others.

Requirements

• You should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (final-year students are particularly encouraged to apply).
• A foundational understanding of React.js, encompassing components, state management, and hooks is essential.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and a basic knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is required.
• Exposure to Next.js, Git, and contemporary frontend tools is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
• Formal work experience is not a prerequisite; involvement in personal projects, academic assignments, or hackathons will be considered valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience or familiarity with AWS services such as S3, DynamoDB, or Cognito, gained through coursework or personal initiatives.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks like Playwright or Cypress is a plus.
• A GitHub profile or portfolio that showcases your projects would be advantageous.
