M&A to own the human side of acquisitions. This role defines how people are integrated and advises the Integration Management Office. You will be a strategic leader in high-stakes environments.
This is a Director-level position based in San Francisco, California. You will serve as the senior People expert across the entire M&A lifecycle. Your compensation will include a base of $223,848.00, a target bonus of $33,576.00, and target equity of $22,384.00, according to the 2024 plan.
Role & Responsibilities
You will act as the primary People strategist for acquisitions. Your work will shape the integration narrative and influence decisions at the highest level. You will partner with a dedicated Project Manager to steer people-related activities. Your focus will be on preserving culture and enabling talent retention.
- Lead the People strategy for acquisitions, creating custom integration roadmaps for each deal.
- Serve as the key advisor to the Integration Management Office on all talent and organizational design matters.
- Own the due diligence process for people-related risks, including contracts and global compliance.
- Design future-state org structures, focusing on spans of control, role mapping, and leadership selection.
- Partner with COEs to ensure acquired teams integrate smoothly into Lyft's culture and ways of working.
- Evaluate leadership bench strength and identify critical succession risks during transitions.
- Create and execute change management plans to maintain employee engagement and trust.
- Drive communication strategies to ensure teams understand new programs and expectations early.
- Analyze workforce data to measure integration success and adjust strategies as needed.
- Flex into other high-priority initiatives for the People Business Partners or People Team as priorities change.
Experience & Background
You bring a strong history of handling complex organizational change. Your background should show you can manage sensitive information with professionalism. You have a proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrate ten years of progressive HR or People Business Partner experience.
- Include three years of specific M&A integration experience within technology or platform businesses.
- Show a track record of running end-to-end HR due diligence and workforce integration for deals of any scale.
- Provide evidence of expertise in international employment law and labor regulations across multiple regions.
- Exhibit executive presence and advanced consulting skills when advising senior stakeholders.
- Use data fluently to analyze workforce trends and measure integration performance.
- Comfortably manage competing priorities and shift focus quickly in dynamic deal landscapes.
