Job description
About the role
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. The Senior Product Designer, Payments, Identity & Integrity role is central to this mission. You will be responsible for designing the core financial and trust infrastructure of the Lyft platform. This involves owning the end-to-end experience that helps drivers clearly understand how much they earn and how they get paid safely. A key part of this role involves solving complex identity and fraud challenges to protect both riders and drivers in real time. You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to turn ambiguous problems into coherent design solutions. Your work will directly support Lyft's purpose of serving and connecting people with reliable transportation. You will advocate for a customer-centric approach while maintaining excellence in design craft and communication. From initial research through production launch, you will ensure the designed solutions are intuitive, secure, and trustworthy.
Location: Canada
Engagement: Full-time
What you'll do
Define and design features that help drivers understand their earnings, access their pay, and resolve payment issues with clarity and speed. This includes creating interfaces that make earnings transparent and actionable.
Lead end-to-end design for driver earnings and identity verification experiences, conducting research, synthesis, and iterative execution across web and native platforms. You will guide the design from initial discovery to launched production.
Partner with product managers and engineers to translate complex business and security requirements into intuitive interface flows and interactions. You will bridge the gap between technical constraints and user needs.
Conduct user interviews and usability testing to validate design decisions and refine solutions based on real driver behavior and feedback. You will use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design iterations.
Collaborate with data scientists and fraud teams to design controls that protect the platform while minimizing friction for legitimate users. You will balance security with usability.
Create high-quality design artifacts including wireframes, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and visual concepts that communicate intent clearly to stakeholders.
Influence product direction by presenting design rationale and tradeoffs to cross-functional stakeholders with precision and confidence. You will ensure alignment on design decisions.
Inspire your teammates by bringing fresh ideas and a holistic approach to complex workflows in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will foster collaboration across teams.
Champion accessibility and inclusive design principles to ensure that solutions work well for a diverse driver community. You will advocate for inclusive experiences.
Work within an agile delivery process, iterating quickly and adapting designs as new insights and business needs emerge. You will support continuous improvement.
Requirements
5-6 years of product design experience with a focus on complex systems, workflows, and financial or identity-related domains. You must demonstrate mastery in designing intricate user experiences.
Experience working effectively with lean teams of engineers, product managers, and program managers to drive decisions. You have a track record of influencing outcomes in cross-functional settings.
A holistic approach to designing complex workflows, with an ability to reduce friction while maintaining security and compliance. You balance user needs with business and regulatory requirements.
Strong skills in managing cross-functional stakeholder feedback and aligning expectations across teams. You communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse stakeholders.
Expertise with Figma and demonstrated experience using AI tooling to enhance design workflows. You produce high-fidelity, production-ready design artifacts.
Excellence in design craft, including interaction, visual, and service design thinking. You apply design principles rigorously to solve problems.
Proven ability to run user interviews and usability testing to inform and validate design solutions. You use research to drive design decisions.
Ability to work comfortably in a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team environment. You thrive in team-oriented settings.
Bonus: Prior experience working on financial products, payments, or identity verification systems. This experience is valuable but not required.

Experience in regulated environments where compliance and security constraints shape product decisions. You understand how regulations impact product design.
Background in designing for emerging markets or regions with varying connectivity and device constraints. You consider diverse user contexts.
Familiarity with fraud detection workflows and risk scoring interfaces. You understand how fraud prevention impacts user experience.
