What you'll do

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy new systems and technologies that support ongoing projects.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to safeguard systems against potential threats.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain data integrity and security across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, with a strong focus on server and network management.
• Proficiency in managing Linux and Windows server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation of routine tasks is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aerospace or space exploration industry, with an understanding of the unique challenges and requirements in this field.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
• Understanding of compliance standards relevant to the industry, such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
