What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for lunar landers and other space exploration vehicles, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems into larger spacecraft architectures.
• Oversee the testing and validation of electrical components, including power distribution systems, communication systems, and avionics, to ensure reliability in harsh space environments.
• Develop and implement design specifications, test plans, and documentation for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
• Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to enhance system performance.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance the design and functionality of electrical systems.
• Participate in project planning and management, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling, to ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies, to communicate technical information and project status effectively.
• Contribute to the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential projects, showcasing Bamboohr's capabilities and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials, ensuring quality and reliability in the supply chain.
• Support the development of company-wide engineering best practices and standards, contributing to the overall success of Bamboohr's engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on aerospace or space systems.
• Proven experience in the design and development of electrical systems for spacecraft or similar applications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power systems, and signal processing.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-461, or similar is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, if required.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and software development processes.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems and their applications in space exploration.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Altium, Cadence, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Experience with laboratory testing equipment and techniques for electrical systems.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C++ for automation and analysis tasks.
