About the role
The is responsible for implementing, training, and auditing all project controls functions on large construction projects. This role requires ownership of project kickoff, tracking, and productivity monitoring to ensure delivery on time and on budget. The hire will support regional and project management in all client-facing and internal reporting activities. Primary duties include managing change control, contract administration, and project billing processes. The position holder will establish risk management protocols and oversee progress measurement according to established credit rules. They will also coordinate cross-functional interfaces to maintain adherence to safety and quality standards across the project lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Interact with the Project Management team and corporate management team and participate in regular project meetings, gathering information and preparing reports and presentations of project status as required.
- Identify and communicate design changes, scope changes, and schedule slippages along with potential impacts, participating in mitigation planning and ensuring trends in cost and schedule are actively managed.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams in the project setting, ensuring project controls personnel interface effectively with engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction teams regarding scope of work and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Oversee the project baseline process for cost, schedule, and progress, ensuring all project systems are implemented in accordance with defined processes and company standards and procedures.
- Ensure full implementation of company processes and procedures as well as industry best practices related to project controls on every project engagement.
- Establish risk management protocols that include identification, documentation, mitigation, and tracking of potential risks, while assessing potential cost and schedule or progress impacts as risks are identified.
- Ensure the accuracy of reported progress percentages based on the rules of credit established within the project, and develop robust progress measurement processes for all required scopes of work.
- Establish and manage the development, review, and updating of project schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the overall master schedule.
- Manage and ensure all project-required reporting is prepared and submitted according to the approved reporting schedule for each project.
- Support contract management activities, including change order control, and monitor related documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Participate in project billing processes, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project finance controls.
- Perform EOM reporting and forecasting activities, providing clear narratives and data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director of Planning & Controls to refine controls and improve project performance metrics over time.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project controls methodologies, tools, and templates across the organization.
- Act as a subject matter expert for project controls during audits and client reviews, demonstrating thorough knowledge of scheduling, cost tracking, and risk management.
Requirements
