Setting bid strategy and scope for industrial electrical projects up to $20M across energy, mining, and manufacturing segments.
Coordinating attendance at bid meetings and walking client sites to clarify scope, access, and requirements while capturing critical field conditions.
Organizing team reviews of drawings, specs, and technical data to build complete proposal responses that address every contract requirement.
Analyzing historical purchase orders, subcontracts, and past job data to shape unit costs and production estimates that reflect current market conditions.
Preparing full-scope estimates for small, medium, and large projects while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining high accuracy standards.
Supporting project managers with estimate handoffs and technical answers during implementation phases to ensure continuity and clarity.
Reviewing field change orders and updating projections quickly when project conditions shift, safeguarding margins and schedules.
Maintaining documentation that backs every figure and assumption in the estimate trail to support audits and future reference.
Guiding project managers and estimators through bid evaluations and final bid selection logic to align on the most advantageous approach.
Tracking RFP timelines, win/loss patterns, and cost database updates to sharpen future proposals and improve overall competitiveness.
Requirements
You must manage end to end estimating for industrial electrical projects in manufacturing, pharma, and energy markets with consistent reliability.
You must interpret complex drawings, specs, and client instructions to define accurate project scope and prevent costly misunderstandings.
You must use historical cost data and subcontract feedback to validate unit and labor hour figures against real world conditions.
You must coordinate with project managers to align bids, responses, and final price decisions so that strategy and execution remain integrated.
You must evaluate multiple vendor quotes to secure optimal material and subcontractor pricing while balancing quality and lead times.
You must track every RFP from first receipt through submission and client feedback to capture lessons learned and refine processes.
You must monitor win and loss metrics to identify patterns and improve future bids, turning data into actionable insights.
You must maintain structured cost code databases and activity code references for team use, ensuring consistency and traceability.
