LivePerson is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the development and strategic direction of its conversational AI and messaging platform. This role sits at the critical intersection of technology and business strategy, guiding product vision from initial concept through full market launch and continuous iteration. The manager will work closely with engineering, design, data science, and customer success teams to prioritize features, align stakeholders, and drive measurable business outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President of Product, this individual will own the roadmap for key product lines and coordinate across multiple cross-functional squads operating in parallel. The position requires someone who can balance long-term strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving market. What you'll do
Define and maintain the product roadmap for LivePerson's messaging and AI-driven engagement platform across multiple customer segments. Partner with engineering leads to translate high-level business objectives into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities for product growth and differentiation in the conversational commerce space. Prioritize feature backlogs based on a combination of customer impact, revenue potential, and long-term strategic alignment with company goals. Lead cross-functional sprint planning sessions and serve as the primary point of contact for all product-related decisions and trade-off discussions. Collaborate closely with the data science team to integrate machine learning models and intelligent automation into the core product experience. Monitor key performance indicators on a regular basis and iterate on product features based on quantitative results and qualitative user feedback. Present product updates, roadmap revisions, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence. Manage the complete end-to-end product lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, testing, release, and post-launch optimization activities. Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with enterprise customers to gather ongoing feedback and inform future product direction.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. Seven or more years of progressive experience in product management within a software or technology company environment. Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-team product deliveries that involve overlapping dependencies and cross-team coordination. Strong foundational understanding of conversational AI, natural language processing, and modern messaging platform architectures and ecosystems. Proven ability to communicate technical concepts and architectural decisions to non-technical audiences with clarity and precision. Hands-on experience working with agile development methodologies and sprint-based workflows in a fast-paced delivery environment. A track record of successfully shipping products that achieved measurable business impact, user adoption, and revenue growth. Familiarity with enterprise SaaS go-to-market motions, customer acquisition strategies, and customer success practices is highly valued.
Nice to have
Experience with LivePerson's specific product suite or a comparable conversational commerce platform in a production environment. Background in building and launching products that serve large-scale enterprise clients with complex procurement cycles and long sales funnels. Knowledge of real-time data pipelines, streaming architectures, and event-driven system design patterns. Exposure to regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to digital communications, customer data privacy, and information security standards.
Skills & tools
Proficiency with product management platforms such as Jira, Aha!, or Productboard for roadmap and backlog management. Experience with analytics and instrumentation tools including Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics for tracking product performance. Familiarity with SQL and the ability to write queries that extract meaningful product insights from large datasets. Solid working knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture concepts to communicate effectively with engineering teams. Comfort with prototyping and design collaboration tools like Figma or Balsamiq to work closely with UX designers. Practical understanding of cloud infrastructure services including AWS or Azure and their role in product deployment and scaling.
Practical notes
This role is based in LivePerson's New York office with a hybrid work arrangement expected several days per week.
