What you'll do
Design and implement new features for LivePerson's customer engagement platform using modern web technologies and best practices.
Build and maintain reusable frontend components that improve development velocity and consistency across the engineering organization.
Write clean, well-tested code following established coding standards and contributing to the team's overall quality benchmarks.
Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
Participate actively in code reviews to ensure code quality, share knowledge, and help teammates grow their skills.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues by diagnosing root causes and implementing lasting, well-documented fixes for the team.
Optimize application performance across the stack, ensuring low latency and high availability for all end users globally.
Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the long-term direction and scalability of the customer engagement platform.
Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, conducting pair programming sessions, and supporting their ongoing professional development.
Document technical designs, API contracts, and system behavior to keep the entire team aligned and informed.
Work with data engineering teams to integrate analytics and insights into the product for continuous improvement.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements that keep the platform competitive and modern.
Requirements
Proven experience as a full stack developer with a strong background in both frontend and backend software engineering.
Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, including experience with modern frameworks and libraries for building dynamic user interfaces.
Solid experience with RESTful APIs and designing server-side services using a backend language such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and deploying applications using containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker.
Strong understanding of database systems including relational databases and NoSQL stores, with hands-on experience in query optimization.
Demonstrated track record of working effectively in agile development environments with iterative delivery cycles and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained through professional work.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with branching strategies and code review workflows.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with real-time communication systems, WebSocket protocols, and messaging infrastructure for high-throughput conversational applications.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration practices that support rapid and reliable releases.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven system design patterns using message brokers and asynchronous communication.
Previous experience working in a customer experience, conversational AI, or messaging platform company is highly valued.
Understanding of security best practices including authentication, authorization, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
