In this pivotal leadership position, you will be responsible for shaping the credit strategy for our existing credit card portfolios in the United States and Mexico, while also laying the groundwork for potential expansions into new international markets. You will define the risk appetite and governance framework that governs how we underwrite and service card portfolios in these key regions. What you'll do
Drive the end-to-end credit strategy for existing card portfolios in the United States and Mexico, ensuring alignment with business growth targets and risk tolerance.
Architect and implement portfolio risk frameworks that optimize approval rates, loss ratios, and customer lifetime value across international markets.
Analyze portfolio performance using advanced analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for strategic intervention.
Collaborate with product and compliance teams to design credit products that meet regulatory standards and market demands in both the US and Mexico.
Lead the development of credit policies and underwriting guidelines tailored to the unique characteristics of each international market.
Partner with data science teams to leverage machine learning and advanced modeling techniques for improved risk prediction and decisioning.
Monitor key portfolio metrics such as delinquency, charge-offs, and utilization to inform timely strategic adjustments.
Represent Lendable in discussions with external partners and regulators to ensure clarity and compliance in international operations.
Champion the adoption of best-in-class risk management practices derived from global fintech standards and emerging innovations.
Spearhead initiatives to expand card offerings into additional international territories, conducting market assessments and risk evaluations.
Define and manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment on credit strategy and operational execution.
Provide thought leadership and mentorship to internal teams on topics related to credit risk, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the calibration of risk models to ensure they remain robust and predictive in changing economic environments.
Establish reporting cadences and dashboards that provide transparent visibility into portfolio health and performance for executive stakeholders.
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in credit risk management, specifically within consumer lending or credit card sectors.
Hold at least 5 years in senior leadership roles, demonstrating a measurable impact on portfolio performance and growth.
Bring proven experience in managing and scaling credit card portfolios across various international markets, with a focus on the US and Mexico.
Show in-depth knowledge of US credit card market regulations and operational practices.
Demonstrate familiarity with credit operations in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, which is highly desirable for this role.
Exhibit strong expertise in credit risk strategy formulation, portfolio optimization, and advanced modeling techniques.
