What you'll do
Conduct research into drive mechanisms suitable for compact cutter bar applications in the Lely Exos product platform
Analyze existing cutter bar drive designs and identify opportunities for size reduction and performance improvement in the Lely Exos
Support the development team by evaluating mechanical and electromechanical drive solutions relevant to the Lely Exos cutter bar
Perform literature reviews on compact drive technologies and their application in agricultural and farming equipment contexts
Assist in modeling and simulating drive system behavior for the Lely Exos cutter bar using engineering analysis methods
Document research findings and prepare technical reports for the Lely team based in Maassluis, the Netherlands
Collaborate with engineers working on the Lely Exos product to understand specific drive requirements and constraints
Test and assess prototype drive components as part of the compact cutter bar research initiative at Lely
Contribute to design reviews by presenting research outcomes and findings related to the Lely Exos drive systems

Requirements
Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program at a university or applied sciences institution with an engineering focus
Strong interest in mechanical engineering, drive systems, or mechatronics as a field of academic and professional study
Motivation to conduct research in a professional engineering environment at Lely and contribute to active projects
Willingness to work on-site in Maassluis, the Netherlands during the internship period as part of the Lely team
Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and drive technology concepts relevant to compact machine components
Ability to work independently on research tasks related to the Lely Exos project and manage deliverables
Good communication skills for sharing research results with the Lely team in Maassluis and presenting findings clearly
