What you'll do
You will define and own the financial narrative of the company, ensuring that strategy is translated into measurable outcomes and timely decisions. You will build and maintain forecasting and budgeting models that reveal trade-offs, risks, and opportunities for executive leadership. You will oversee accounting operations through an outsourced partner, enforcing accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory expectations. You will establish scalable processes and internal controls that support B2B2C operations while preserving rigor as transaction volume grows. You will synthesize complex financial data into concise board packs and executive summaries that enable fast, informed decision-making. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Commercial, Client Success, People, and Legal to align financial planning with company priorities. You will analyze pricing structures, renewal patterns, and unit economics to inform go-to-market strategies and sustainable revenue growth. You will coordinate audit, tax, and regulatory activities, preparing thorough documentation and responses for external stakeholders. You will develop capital planning scenarios and investor narratives that strengthen future fundraising efforts and board confidence. You will create an early-stage finance roadmap, selecting and implementing systems that allow the internal team to scale efficiently over time.
Requirements
You bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles within high-growth companies. You possess deep experience in the benefits and wellness industry, understanding the specific problems, terminology, and customer journey nuances of this market. You have built and operated finance functions in Series A or later stage startups, managing ambiguity and rapid change without compromising accuracy or compliance. You move fluidly between FP&A, accounting oversight, and operational finance, comfortably shifting between strategic planning and day-to-day execution. You have a strong command of GAAP, audit processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, ensuring external stakeholders can rely on your work. You are comfortable engaging with CEOs, COOs, and Boards, performing well under close executive scrutiny and tight deadlines. You work autonomously, taking full ownership of outcomes while remaining deeply involved in the details that drive results. You communicate clearly and persuasively, balancing technical depth with concise storytelling for diverse audiences.
