Chief of Staff
Job description
About the role
The organization brings clarity to complex healthcare costs by redesigning how specialty pharmacy is financed and delivered. The position connects executive leadership with operations so that high-quality decisions can be reached rapidly. This role defines the structure that keeps a fast-scaling health-tech team aligned during aggressive growth. You will own the design and operation of the systems that allow leadership to see clearly and act decisively. This includes owning the architecture of key processes, communications, and information flows across the business. You will translate the strategy of senior leaders into clear operating models that teams can execute against without constant intervention. The role requires a high degree of judgment to prioritize initiatives and ensure that the most critical work is always advancing. You will act as a force multiplier for the leadership team by ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely execution.
Key facts
What you'll do
Operating meetings are prepared and documented so that leadership reviews clear agendas, prepped data, and explicit decisions with assigned owners. You synthesize complex information from across the company into concise options and recommendations that prevent leadership decision paralysis. You manage goal-setting processes and track progress against objectives so that leaders are held accountable and deviations are flagged early. You implement processes with enough structure to create speed and clarity without adding administrative bloat to the team's workflow. You navigate health-tech environments with an understanding that speed must be balanced with clinical rigor and regulatory awareness. You examine metrics in depth so that numbers are not only reported but also interpreted in relation to the business model and strategic choices. You distill documents of significant length or contentious debates into one-page summaries that highlight core issues and next steps for stakeholder review. You support a team that is doubling in size within a year by designing scalable structures for coordination and communication.
Requirements
Experience in BizOps, Strategy, or consulting has been accumulated for 5+ years to connect functions and align priorities across the organization. You hold a Bachelor's degree as a minimum educational requirement for this position. You have a track record of distilling complex topics into clear, actionable narratives for senior stakeholders. You are comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities can shift quickly and decisively. You understand the importance of balancing rapid product development with compliance and clinical safety in regulated settings. You use data analysis and operational coordination as primary tools to solve problems and drive outcomes. You have demonstrated the ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships that enable execution at scale. You can manage multiple priorities and competing demands while maintaining attention to detail and a high standard of work.
Practical notes
This role requires onsite presence in New York City and participation in in-person collaboration. The successful candidate will support a team that is doubling in size within a year. Typical interview steps include a strategy case, a people scenario, and a values conversation. Candidates may be asked to turn around a struggling team or plan for growth. Past results are examined closely, especially how decisions were made and their consequences. Preparing two or three decision stories with numbers and lessons is the best use of time for the interview process.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
Leadership careers move from manager to senior manager, director, and executive roles. Each step adds more scope and more responsibility for outcomes. The best leaders keep learning how to delegate, communicate, and decide. Leadership careers reward a record of building and developing people. The higher you go, the more your communication shapes the whole organization.
