Key facts
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain van pack drainage equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct site assessments to identify drainage issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to develop effective drainage strategies tailored to specific site conditions.
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on drainage systems, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
- Document all work performed, including detailed reports on site conditions, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior engineers and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Requirements
- Proven experience in drainage engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a hands-on role.
- Strong understanding of drainage systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair processes.
- Valid driving license, with the ability to operate company vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to drainage engineering and construction.
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced drainage technologies, such as CCTV inspection and trenchless technology.
- Relevant certifications in drainage engineering or related fields, such as NRSWA or CSCS.
