What you'll do

• Design, install, and configure CCTV systems tailored to specific project requirements, ensuring optimal coverage and functionality.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting of existing CCTV installations to ensure they are fully operational and compliant with safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to assess site conditions and determine the best locations for camera placement.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on the effective use of CCTV systems and related technologies.
• Analyze footage from CCTV systems to assist in investigations and provide reports as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in CCTV technology and recommend upgrades or changes to enhance system performance.
• Work closely with local authorities and law enforcement when necessary to ensure compliance with regulations and to assist in investigations.
• Document all installations, maintenance work, and system configurations in detail for future reference and compliance audits.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations where CCTV footage may be required to assist in incident resolution.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for CCTV operations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in CCTV installation and maintenance, ideally within a similar engineering role.
• Strong understanding of various CCTV technologies, including IP cameras, analog systems, and video management software.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot network-related issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
• A valid driving license, as travel to different sites may be required.
• Relevant certifications in CCTV installation or related fields are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices concerning surveillance systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential on-call duties for emergency situations.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced CCTV technologies, such as facial recognition or analytics software.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.
• Additional qualifications in electronics or telecommunications would be advantageous.
