As a CCTV Engineer at Lanes Group, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and security of our operations through the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of CCTV systems. What you'll do
- Design, install, and configure CCTV systems tailored to specific project requirements, ensuring optimal coverage and functionality.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting of existing CCTV installations to ensure they are fully operational and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to assess site conditions and determine the best locations for camera placement.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on the effective use of CCTV systems and related technologies.
- Analyze footage from CCTV systems to assist in investigations and provide reports as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in CCTV technology and recommend upgrades or changes to enhance system performance.
- Work closely with local authorities and law enforcement when necessary to ensure compliance with regulations and to assist in investigations.
- Document all installations, maintenance work, and system configurations in detail for future reference and compliance audits.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations where CCTV footage may be required to assist in incident resolution.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for CCTV operations and maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CCTV installation and maintenance, ideally within a similar engineering role.
- Strong understanding of various CCTV technologies, including IP cameras, analog systems, and video management software.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot network-related issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
- A valid driving license, as travel to different sites may be required.
- Relevant certifications in CCTV installation or related fields are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices concerning surveillance systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including potential on-call duties for emergency situations.
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced CCTV technologies, such as facial recognition or analytics software.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Additional qualifications in electronics or telecommunications would be advantageous.
