About the role
The owns the end-to-end management of financial and revenue reporting, ensuring robust accuracy and timely delivery to leadership. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving forecast models that align with Kin's disciplined growth strategy and established methodologies. You will drive ad hoc financial analysis to support state and product-level expansion decisions while establishing process improvements that streamline recurring reporting workflows. The position requires maintaining rigorous data integrity and comprehensive documentation across all financial models and tools used by the Finance team. You will own the management of monthly and quarterly reporting cycles end-to-end for the Finance organization. Additionally, this role will track and report on key financial and operational metrics tied directly to Kin's expansion into new states and markets. Success in this position means becoming the trusted owner of insights that inform strategic decisions for cross-functional stakeholders and leadership. In your first 6-12 months, you are expected to deliver outcomes that improve the speed and accuracy of financial reporting for stakeholders and move Kin's mission forward with measurable impact.

What you'll do
- Own the recurring financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery for leadership consumption.
- Build and maintain sophisticated forecast models using Kin's established methodologies and processes to support growth scenarios.
- Manage monthly and quarterly reporting cycles for the Finance team end-to-end, from data collection to final presentation.
- Drive ad hoc financial analysis that informs state and product-level growth strategy decisions and uncovers actionable insights.
- Establish process improvements that streamline recurring reporting and forecast modeling workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain data integrity and documentation across all forecast models and reporting tools to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Track and report on key financial and operational metrics tied to Kin's expansion into new states and evolving market conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to refine forecasting and reporting standards and align on strategic priorities.
- Translate complex financial data into clear analysis that supports decision-making for stakeholders outside of the Finance function.
- Contribute to the development of financial frameworks that enable Kin's continued expansion while safeguarding profitability and unit economics.
- Partner with cross-functional partners to define, track, and report on key performance indicators critical to business health.
- Support the Finance team in creating narratives around performance that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership review.
- Ensure all financial models are stress-tested and validated to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert on financial planning and reporting tools to guide best practices across the Finance organization.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes within reporting and forecasting to reduce cycle time and improve accuracy.
- Provide timely support to leadership during board and executive meetings related to financial performance and forecasting accuracy.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail to ensure all deliverables meet the high standards expected by Kin's leadership and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the FP&A function by sharing insights and best practices with team members.
Requirements
- 4+ years of financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance experience, including forecast modeling and recurring reporting.
- Demonstrated proficiency building and maintaining financial models in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience owning recurring reporting cycles (monthly/quarterly) with minimal oversight and strict adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to translate financial data into analysis that informs strategic decisions for growth and profitability.
- Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders outside of Finance to gather requirements and drive alignment.
- Proficiency with financial planning and reporting tools (e.g., Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, NetSuite, Anaplan, or similar).
- Insurance, fintech, or high-growth startup experience that demonstrates comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Comfort with data integrity checks and the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies in financial models and reports.
- Willingness to adhere to Kin's hiring timeline and process, including application deadlines and evaluation stages.
