About the role
Kin is on the lookout for a Senior Auto Claims Adjuster with expertise in bodily injury claims to join its growing Claims team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing a wide array of auto claims, guiding them from the initial report through to their final resolution, with a particular emphasis on litigated cases. Your role will involve crafting strategies, negotiating settlements, and playing a vital part in the overall management of complex claims within the team.

What you'll do
- Manage a diverse portfolio of litigated auto liability and bodily injury claims from the moment they are assigned until they are resolved.
- Develop comprehensive litigation strategies by thoroughly analyzing initial complaints, amended actions, and the evolving details of each case.
- Assess claims exposure and devise negotiation strategies aimed at achieving favorable settlements.
- Review and interpret legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions, to ensure that your handling of the case aligns with its progression.
- Work closely with defense attorneys, claims counsel, and management to formulate strategic plans for each case.
- Build and maintain relationships with approved defense firms and industry vendors to facilitate effective claims management.
- Prepare for and engage in mediations, depositions, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.
- your knowledge of multi-state regulations, particularly Florida's insurance code, PIP statute, and bad faith laws, to inform your claims handling.
- Keep your adjuster license active and up to date, while also pursuing continuing education opportunities to stay current with legal developments.
- Mentor junior adjusters by conducting file reviews, answering coverage questions, and providing guidance on complex claims.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in auto claims adjusting is required.
- At least 3 years of experience specifically dealing with auto injury claims and litigation is essential.
- A strong background in managing claims within Florida, including familiarity with its insurance code, PIP statute, and bad faith regulations, is crucial.
- Proven experience in mentoring junior adjusters, including leading file reviews and providing coaching on intricate claims.
- Exceptional documentation skills for case activities and communications, both written and verbal, throughout the litigation process.
- Ability to effectively handle both high-volume, straightforward claims and more complex litigated files.
- Experience working directly for an insurance carrier in a fully remote, digital-first environment is preferred.
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities are necessary for conducting complex coverage and liability investigations.
- An active adjuster license in good standing is required, with a willingness to obtain additional state licenses as necessary.

- Experience handling claims in additional states beyond Florida, such as Texas, Georgia, Colorado, or Arizona, would be beneficial.
