What you'll do

• Oversee the planning and execution of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, and resource allocation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
• Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships to optimize project costs.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets established standards and specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel, addressing any engineering-related questions or concerns that may arise during construction.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders on progress and any potential risks.
• Participate in project meetings, presenting updates and collaborating with team members to resolve challenges and enhance project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on job sites, conducting safety audits and training as necessary.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in construction technology, integrating innovative practices into project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or construction management, preferably in the commercial or residential sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques, along with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, or similar applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with budgeting and cost management principles in a construction context.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction methods.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application in project management.
• Familiarity with contract negotiation and administration processes.
• Previous experience in a leadership role or mentoring junior engineers.
