What you'll do

• Lead and manage multiple civil and DOT projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, and deliverables, while identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure project specifications are met and quality standards are upheld.
• Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment on project goals.
• Monitor project progress and performance, utilizing project management tools to track milestones and deliverables.
• Prepare and present project reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to civil and DOT projects, including safety standards and environmental considerations.
• Manage project budgets, including forecasting costs and controlling expenditures to prevent overruns.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, mentoring junior staff and promoting professional development opportunities.
• Address any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle, implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to enhance project success and company reputation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the civil or transportation sectors.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably with DOT involvement.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or Waterfall.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing civil and transportation projects.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• Experience with sustainable construction practices and green building standards.
• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other relevant technology.
• Previous experience in public sector projects or working with government agencies.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
