Kciconstruction is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager specializing in Civil and Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. This role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various infrastructure projects in Springfield, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and project management, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

What you'll do
- Lead and manage multiple civil and DOT projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, and deliverables, while identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure project specifications are met and quality standards are upheld.
- Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment on project goals.
- Monitor project progress and performance, utilizing project management tools to track milestones and deliverables.
- Prepare and present project reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to civil and DOT projects, including safety standards and environmental considerations.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting costs and controlling expenditures to prevent overruns.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, mentoring junior staff and promoting professional development opportunities.
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle, implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to enhance project success and company reputation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the civil or transportation sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably with DOT involvement.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing civil and transportation projects.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with sustainable construction practices and green building standards.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other relevant technology.
- Previous experience in public sector projects or working with government agencies.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
