Head of Fraud & Risk Mitigation
Job description
About the role
The checkout landscape is evolving beyond the selection of a payment method. It is now about maximizing the utility of existing financial tools. Kasheesh is at the forefront of this shift, redefining digital payments and the modern checkout experience. Our platform enables users to combine multiple debit, credit, or prepaid cards at any point of sale where Mastercard is accepted. This approach unlocks greater purchasing power, improves cash flow, and helps users manage their budgets effectively without the need for new credit lines. The shopping experience remains entirely unchanged.
This role is critical to the integrity of that experience. We are seeking a Head of Fraud & Risk Mitigation who will serve as the definitive expert on fraud and risk for Kasheesh. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strategic vision and direct execution. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute executive, acting as the senior voice in the C-Suite. Protecting our debt facility from malicious actors and fraudulent schemes is the top priority, balanced with ensuring seamless access for legitimate customers.
The scope of this role encompasses the entire fraud lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing the intake rules that identify abuse without hindering genuine users. This involves building dynamic monitoring playbooks and detection logic that adapt to emerging threats. A core part of the function is analyzing transaction data and investigation outcomes to identify latent risk patterns that may otherwise remain hidden. You will translate these insights into preventative controls and rigorous tests.
Compliance is non-negotiable. Every investigation workflow, dispute resolution, data sharing practice, and risk control must strictly adhere to sponsor bank requirements, card network regulations, and federal consumer protection laws, including Regulation E. This is the foundational constraint for all decisions. You must have a proven track record of operating within these specific regulatory and banking frameworks. Your collaboration with sponsors and card networks will focus on establishing data-sharing agreements that empower safe and informed decision-making.
You will own the establishment of investigation workflows, ensuring they meet all Reg E standards and legal obligations. A key responsibility is aligning risk management with business objectives, particularly the optimization of cash flow. Controls must be designed to support funding access, not obstruct it. Maintaining meticulous documentation of all risk choices and trade-offs is essential for audit readiness and transparency.
