About the role
You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Karat's interview platform, defining the vision and strategy that powers how the world's largest interviewing company evaluates technical talent. You will act as the primary product voice for enterprise customers, shaping solutions that help leaders hire top engineers and elevate their teams with confidence. You will bring deep empathy for both candidates and interviewers, ensuring the platform remains fair, predictive, and enjoyable under rapid change. You will collaborate closely with engineering, content, design, and go-to-market teams to turn complex requirements into coherent, high-impact product experiences. This role requires a schedule that overlaps with U.S. business hours to engage effectively with our global customers. You will leverage your background in software development and B2B SaaS to translate nuanced customer needs into clear product direction. You will be responsible for making decisions that balance user empathy, business value, and technical feasibility on a mission-critical platform.

What you'll do
Define and own the product vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for the Karat interview platform, aligning with the VP of Product and enterprise customer needs.
Evaluate how emerging AI advancements in software development can be leveraged to provide stronger signal and measurement of a candidate's technical capabilities within live interviews.
Collaborate with engineering, content, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver high-quality solutions that transform how companies evaluate talent and manage interview programs.
Analyze assessment data and performance datasets to improve measurement accuracy, design experiments, and enhance predictive validity for candidate performance.
Monitor key performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner with Go-to-Market teams on expansion and adoption strategies.
Develop compelling business cases and value propositions for new offerings, translating complex product features into clear benefits for hiring leaders and recruiters.
Prioritize features based on customer needs, business objectives, and market dynamics, ensuring the product suite remains competitive and customer-centric.
Partner with B2B clients in a SaaS environment, conducting customer discovery calls, QBRs, and translating enterprise feedback into actionable product decisions.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to coordinate requirements, clarify trade-offs, and ensure successful delivery of product milestones.
Demonstrate experience in executive presentations, communicating product value and features to gain buy-in from senior, highly technical leaders.
Maintain deep user empathy for candidates, interviewers, and talent leaders, ensuring the platform remains fair, transparent, and enjoyable.
Leverage your background as a former software developer to build credibility and effective partnerships with engineering teams.
Champion data-driven decision making, using insights from hundreds of thousands of candidates to continuously refine the interview platform.
Act as the primary product voice for the interview platform, articulating strategy and rationale across internal and external stakeholder groups.
Requirements
8+ years of product management experience working on both B2B and B2C offerings, with ideally past experience working as a software developer.
Track record of working directly with B2B clients in a SaaS environment, comfortable conducting customer discovery calls, participating in QBRs, and translating enterprise feedback into product decisions.
Demonstrated ability to define, launch, sell, and scale successful products with proven business impact in competitive markets.
Experience engaging with senior, highly technical leaders on topics related to evaluating core software developer fundamentals and technical skills.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders across functions and levels.
Successful history of executive presentations, including the ability to communicate business value, product features, and benefits clearly to secure executive buy-in.
Strong analytical mindset, comfortable working with large datasets and using evidence to drive product hypotheses and decisions.
Commitment to building fair and inclusive assessment experiences that reflect best practices in technical evaluation and candidate experience.
Nice to have
Preferred experience in developer tools, technical assessment platforms, or HR technology markets.
Background in AI product management or experience working with large language models in product contexts.
Familiarity with interview engineering practices and the day-to-day work of professional technical interviewers.
Experience operating in fast-paced, matrixed environments where priorities shift based on customer and market demands.
