What you'll do

Greet and assist customers visiting the store in Fredericia with a friendly and professional attitude at all times. Help customers select home furnishings, bedding, and decorative items that match their preferences and room needs. Maintain organized and well-stocked shelves, displays, and product areas throughout the store each working day. Process customer purchases at the checkout counter using the store point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently. Answer customer questions about product features, pricing, availability, and current promotions offered at the store. Support the receiving and unpacking of new merchandise deliveries and ensure items are placed correctly. Keep the sales floor clean, tidy, and presentable in line with JYSK store standards and guidelines. Collaborate with team members to meet daily sales targets and contribute to overall store performance goals. Handle customer returns and exchanges following the store established policies and procedures without delay. Participate in brief team meetings to stay informed about product updates, seasonal changes, and store priorities. Upsell and suggest complementary products to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase average transaction value. Monitor inventory levels on the floor and report low-stock items to the store manager promptly.

Requirements

Available for a full-time temporary position in Fredericia with a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings. Have previous experience working in retail, sales, or a customer-facing role in a store environment. Speak and write Danish fluently, and be comfortable communicating with customers in a retail setting. Possess a genuine interest in home furnishings, interior design, and creating welcoming living spaces for customers. Be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking products. Work well in a team environment while also being capable of handling individual responsibilities independently. Have a positive and approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset. Be comfortable using basic digital tools such as tablets or point-of-sale systems for daily transactions.

Nice to have

Have prior experience working for a home furnishing or interior retail chain such as JYSK or similar. Speak an additional language beyond Danish, such as German or English, to assist diverse customers. Have basic knowledge of product categories including bedding, bathroom accessories, lighting, and kitchenware. Hold a valid Danish driver license, as occasional local errands or deliveries may be part of the role.
