Bamboohr is seeking an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in South Bend, Indiana. This full-time position is pivotal in overseeing our financial operations and ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. What you'll do

• Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to create accurate forecasts and monitor budget adherence throughout the fiscal year.
• Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Manage the preparation for audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections while maintaining positive vendor and customer relationships.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic financial plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Utilize financial software and tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management to support decision-making processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
