What you'll do
Class Design and Execution
The instructor is responsible for designing a cohesive fifty-minute mat journey. This involves mixing elements of strength, stamina, and flowing Pilates concepts. Each class segment should be shaped with varied tempos and ranges of motion to cater to diverse abilities. The sequence must progress logically, ensuring a smooth transition between warm-up, work, and cool-down phases. You will craft a unique narrative for every session, ensuring that the structure feels both challenging and accessible. The choreography should be intelligent, building intensity thoughtfully while respecting the physical limits of participants. You will select specific movement patterns that highlight the connection between breath and motion. Ultimately, you are tasked with creating a class that feels complete, leaving participants with a sense of accomplishment.
Participant Interaction and Safety
Reading the room is a critical skill for success in this role. Instructors must adjust cues in real-time so every participant feels guided and challenged appropriately. Form fixes should be delivered with clarity and kindness, prioritizing safety without disrupting the flow. Constant verbal direction and safety reminders are essential, especially during intense intervals. Maintaining impeccable form and alignment while moving across the mat is required for the entire session. You will scan the space visually to identify individuals who may need extra attention or encouragement. Your communication must be precise, ensuring that modifications are understood by the group. This vigilance helps prevent injury and fosters a supportive environment. You will create a culture where participants feel safe to challenge their limits.
Movement Proficiency
Candidates must move with ease through deep ranges of motion. The ability to demonstrate exercises with control and balance is non-negotiable. This physical capability ensures instructors can serve as models for proper execution. Clear speech is necessary to provide constant direction and keep participants informed. Your body must be a tool that exhibits strength, flexibility, and grace. You will perform complex transitions smoothly, showcasing the exercise variations you describe. This physical literacy is essential for inspiring confidence in your students. It proves that the movements you teach are achievable and effective.
Beyond the Studio
The role extends beyond the physical class time. Instructors will coordinate with partners to extend the experience beyond the studio walls. This may involve suggesting resources or methods to integrate the workout philosophy into daily life. You will act as an ambassador for the JETSET brand, representing its values in every interaction. Ensuring smooth transitions and steady breathing is vital during the ship phase to conclude the session effectively. You will leave participants with a clear understanding of how to carry the energy forward. This includes providing guidance on recovery and mindful movement in everyday activities. The goal is to build a relationship that transcends a single class.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a current certification that demonstrates advanced Pilates training and movement science knowledge. A minimum of three to five years of experience guiding group exercise in live settings is required. The ability to move dynamically while demonstrating exercises with control is a fundamental expectation. Clear communication skills are necessary to provide direction and safety reminders throughout the class. You must possess the physical stamina to maintain high energy levels for the full duration of the class. A professional demeanor and reliability are mandatory for building trust with the community. Previous experience working with a diverse range of clients is considered a standard expectation. You must be comfortable leading a room of varying fitness levels simultaneously.
