In this position, you will play a key role in promoting and expanding the adoption of our innovative core curriculum products, specifically Takeoff by IXL, which is designed to enhance math education for K-12 students. Your primary focus will be engaging with educators, school districts, and state departments to demonstrate the value of our curriculum offerings, support their implementation processes, and drive sales growth. What you'll do
- Present and demonstrate IXL's new math core curriculum program, Takeoff by IXL, to prospective clients, including school districts, administrators, and educators.
- Collaborate with K-12 field sales management and representatives to develop and execute strategies for implementing the core curriculum math program within your designated geographic area.
- Engage with educators and district decision-makers to understand their specific needs, challenges, and goals, providing tailored support throughout the sales process and during curriculum adoption.
- Use your expertise to communicate the benefits of IXL's curriculum offerings, emphasizing how they align with educational standards and improve student learning outcomes.
- Conduct impactful, engaging presentations and product demonstrations for diverse audiences, including teachers, principals, and district officials.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all IXL products, updates, and features to effectively address customer questions and provide relevant solutions.
- Stay informed about current market trends, curriculum standards, and adoption cycles at the local, state, and national levels to identify opportunities and anticipate customer needs.
- Work closely with sales teams to identify target districts and state departments, developing outreach strategies to increase product adoption.
- Prepare for and support state and local curriculum adoptions, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with educators and district leaders to foster trust and long-term partnerships.
- Track and report on sales activities, customer feedback, and market insights to inform strategic planning and product development.
- Travel up to 85% within your assigned territory to meet with clients, conduct presentations, and attend industry events.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and product knowledge to represent IXL Learning effectively in all interactions.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing insights, best practices, and supporting colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Over 3 years of experience in EdTech sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in selling K-12 core curriculum products, with a strong understanding of curriculum standards and adoption processes.
- At least 5 years of experience in teaching or school administration, providing a solid foundation in educational practices and classroom needs.
- Preferably possess a background in Math, both in teaching and sales contexts, to effectively communicate product benefits and technical details.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with educators, district officials, and state departments.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and convey complex information clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing professional reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Comfortable working with educational technology tools and platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 85%, within the assigned territory.
- Must reside within 45 minutes of a major airport for ease of travel.
- Knowledge of curriculum standards, adoption cycles, and the education landscape at local, state, and national levels.
- A proactive attitude, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities and customer needs.

The salary range for this full-time position is between $80,000 and $105,000, depending on experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, the role offers commission opportunities and benefits. Compensation is determined by factors such as role, level, and individual qualifications. The position involves extensive travel, up to 85%, within the territory, so candidates must reside within 45 minutes of a major airport to facilitate travel logistics.
