What you'll do
- Develop and maintain back-end systems, application logic, and user interfaces to engage our users effectively.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement the best technologies to introduce new features and products that enhance the learning journey.
- Participate comprehensively in the entire development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and optimization for performance and scalability.
- Take full ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery within a dynamic and fast-paced development environment.
- Collaborate closely with fellow engineers and cross-functional teams to design, build, and deliver exceptional products tailored to the specific needs of students and educators globally.
- Analyze complex problems and devise efficient, scalable solutions that improve the reliability and user experience of our educational platforms.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to team standards and best practices in software development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production systems, working collaboratively to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews, providing insights and feedback that elevate the overall quality of the codebase.
- Support the deployment and monitoring of applications, utilizing cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability for global users.

Requirements
- Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrate strong programming capabilities across multiple languages and paradigms relevant to our technology stack.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving skills when approaching complex software development challenges.
- Show the ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also thriving in collaborative environments with diverse teams.
- Have familiarity with Unix environments, Python, Java, SQL, or JavaScript, which is considered advantageous for success in this role.
- Maintain a strong commitment to leveraging technology as a tool for enhancing educational outcomes and improving learning experiences.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring current work authorization sponsorship for the position location.
- Be available to work full-time from the company's physical office location in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Nice to have
