What you'll do
Charting cold calls to uncover needs and position IXL as the right fit for each district's unique instructional context. Designing tailored demos that highlight IXL skills and real classroom impact, showing exactly how tools align with daily teaching routines. Guiding prospects through trials and contracts with clarity and patience, addressing questions before they arise. Hosting virtual workshops for teachers to explore IXL Language Arts features and build confidence in day-to-day use. Coordinating closely with the regional Account Manager on deal strategy to ensure messaging and positioning stay sharp. Reviewing usage patterns and feedback to refine your outreach approach and focus energy on highest-impact opportunities. Shipping new sales playbooks that align with product updates and timelines, keeping conversations current and relevant. Partnering with local districts to align IXL into existing instructional models without disrupting established workflows. Leading discovery sessions that surface underlying goals, from intervention needs to enrichment priorities. Communicating insights internally so product teams and customer success understand what educators are asking for.
Requirements
You hold a BA or BS degree and bring K-12 classroom experience to the table, giving you credibility with educators. You have a background in educational sales that informs your daily outreach and decision-making. You communicate with clarity, adapting language for busy teachers and strategic school leaders. You perform confidently on calls while managing multiple opportunities and shifting priorities. You use data to adjust tactics and hit weekly and monthly targets with consistent discipline. You travel roughly half the year to visit schools and events, representing IXL in person across South Carolina and beyond. You are comfortable working remotely while maintaining strong relationships through video calls, email, and phone conversations. You follow processes rigorously, ensuring that every interaction is documented and aligned with IXL standards. You demonstrate resilience in the face of rejection, using feedback to refine your approach over time. You are passionate about educational equity and see IXL as a tool that can support diverse learners.
Nice to have
Experience teaching in diverse school environments, including urban, rural, and suburban settings. Familiarity with curriculum standards and classroom workflows, such as pacing guides and assessment cycles. An understanding of how technology integrates with instructional routines, including learning management systems and data tools. Comfort with consultative selling approaches that focus on long-term partnerships rather than one-time transactions. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, support, and professional learning facilitators.
