About the role
Iterable is looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their team and help protect the company's cloud infrastructure and data assets. What you'll do
Lead the design and implementation of cloud security architectures across multiple production environments.
Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify potential vulnerabilities in systems.
Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security practices into the software development lifecycle.
Monitor cloud infrastructure continuously for security incidents and coordinate timely incident response activities.
Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures for all cloud operations.
Evaluate and recommend cloud security tools and services to strengthen the organization's overall posture.
Mentor junior security engineers and provide practical guidance on industry best practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and internal governance requirements across all projects.
Automate security monitoring and detection processes using scripting languages and operational tooling.
Participate in threat modeling exercises to anticipate and mitigate emerging security risks in a proactive manner.
Review and update security configurations for cloud resources to ensure they meet organizational standards.
Partner with product teams to understand feature requirements and provide security guidance early in planning.
Stay current with emerging threats and security trends to inform the organization's defensive strategies.
Requirements
Proven experience in cloud security engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
Strong understanding of major cloud platforms, networking fundamentals, and essential security principles.
Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with incident response procedures and security monitoring in live production environments.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent industry standards.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Several years of hands-on experience in security engineering or a comparable professional role.
Experience with security architecture reviews and threat modeling in cloud-native environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about security challenges.
Nice to have
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and configuration management systems to manage cloud environments at scale.
Knowledge of container security, orchestration platforms, and Kubernetes hardening practices in production settings.
Familiarity with security automation and orchestration platforms to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual effort.
Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage technology company is highly valued.
Understanding of data privacy principles and data protection regulations relevant to cloud-based services and applications.
