We are seeking a Senior Compliance Consultant to join our team in Newcastle upon Tyne, gb. This is a full-time position focused on leading complex client portfolios and delivering high-impact compliance consulting services.
In this role, you will own a book of business, providing strategic direction and expert guidance to clients while developing the capabilities of your colleagues. You will act as a trusted advisor, driving proactive business development and ensuring the delivery of technically robust compliance solutions. Success in this position requires strong leadership, meticulous attention to regulatory detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities
You will serve as the primary contact for key client relationships, delivering ongoing compliance support and ensuring alignment with client objectives. This includes designing and executing compliance monitoring reviews, anti-money laundering (AML) initiatives, and regulatory change programs. You will prepare thoroughly for assessments such as FCA mock visits, ensuring all activities are robust and audit-ready.
A core part of the role involves drafting, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and reports. You will ensure that all RegData filings and compliance documentation meet regulatory expectations and are clear, accurate, and actionable. You will establish and implement risk-based monitoring frameworks, ensuring all deliverables adhere to current regulatory standards and best practices.
You will also play a pivotal role in developing junior team members. This includes coaching colleagues, facilitating knowledge transfer, and contributing to internal initiatives that promote continuous learning and business growth. You will work closely with oversight teams to ensure policies remain current with evolving regulations, maintaining a sharp awareness of regulatory expectations. Translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, client-focused guidance will be essential to support successful implementation. You will champion continuous improvement across compliance workflows and documentation standards, enhancing the quality and efficiency of our engagements.

Requirements
You will bring prior experience in financial services, ideally within compliance consulting or a regulated environment. A deep understanding of FCA regulations, including AIFMs, MiFIDPRU, and the FCA Handbook, is essential. Practical experience in asset management, investment banking, or related sectors is required.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are critical, as you will be responsible for delivering clear and effective solutions to clients. You will enter this role with a degree or relevant professional qualifications, such as CISI, and demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
