About the role
Iq Eq is a global firm that provides fund administration, corporate services, and technology solutions to the investment management industry. The Accountant 1 position in the Fund Accounting team supports the daily accounting operations for a range of investment funds managed by the firm. This role works under the guidance of senior accountants and contributes to maintaining accurate financial records for each fund in the portfolio. The incumbent will coordinate with fund managers, auditors, and other departments to ensure that all accounting entries are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.

What you'll do
Prepare and review journal entries for fund transactions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of daily accounting records.
Reconcile bank accounts and brokerage statements against the general ledger and investigate any discrepancies found during the process.
Calculate and distribute net asset values for multiple funds according to established schedules and approved methodologies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal management review and external distribution.
Support the month-end and year-end close activities by collecting and organizing supporting documentation for audit review.
Maintain and update fund accounting records in the financial management system with proper account classification and coding.
Collaborate with the compliance team to verify that all fund transactions meet regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.
Process investor subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers by recording the appropriate entries in the relevant fund accounts.
Communicate with fund administrators and custodians to confirm account balances and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
Participate in internal reviews and process improvement discussions to help enhance the efficiency of fund accounting operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university or college institution.
At least one to two years of professional experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, or a comparable finance role.
Solid understanding of general accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping and accrual-based accounting methods.
Familiarity with fund valuation procedures and the calculation of net asset values for pooled investment vehicles.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a structured environment.
Proficiency in using spreadsheet applications for data analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting purposes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.
Willingness to work in a team-oriented setting and to follow documented procedures and internal controls consistently.
Nice to have
Experience working with alternative investment funds such as private equity, hedge funds, or real estate vehicles.
Knowledge of local accounting standards or international financial reporting standards applicable to fund entities.
Exposure to fund administration platforms or cloud-based accounting software used in the asset servicing industry.
Prior experience in a shared services or outsourced accounting environment supporting multiple clients at the same time.
