This Senior Accountant, Fund Accounting | End to End Accounting | Reviewer position at Iq Eq is centered on validating fund accounting deliverables and ensuring strict adherence to quality standards. The role holder is responsible for performing detailed examinations of financial statements while acting as a key technical resource for preparers. The focus is on quality assurance and maintaining accounting standards across all deliverables. In this capacity, you will safeguard the integrity of financial data and processes, serving as a critical checkpoint in the financial reporting lifecycle. Your work will directly influence the reliability of client reporting and internal controls, contributing to the technical excellence of the fund accounting practice. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving accounting inconsistencies.
What you'll do
- Examine financial statements, NAV calculations, and client deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
- Apply accounting standards and regulatory requirements within client-specific frameworks to ensure correct treatment.
- Deliver technical guidance to preparers on complex accounting modules to enhance process understanding.
- Validate capital calls, distribution workings, and fund books and records for completeness and accuracy.
- Support process improvement initiatives in collaboration with finance and operations teams to boost efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client requirements to ensure documentation and control alignment.
- Identify discrepancies in accounting processes and serve as a bridge between preparers and reviewers for efficient resolution.
- Expand expertise in intricate fund structures to protect data integrity and compliance.
- Perform detailed reviews of journal entries and supporting documentation for adherence to policies.
- Conduct account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure financial records are accurate and reliable.
- Ensure compliance with investment fund accounting rules and internal control frameworks.
- Assist in the preparation and review of periodic financial reports for management and clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and streamline reporting workflows.
- Uphold the highest level of professionalism in all financial reporting activities to support client trust.
Requirements
- You are an accounting, finance, or business administration graduate with a CPA license or equivalent.
- You bring a minimum of 5 years of total experience, with 3 years in fund accounting, financial reporting, or external audit focused on complex portfolios.
- You demonstrate proficiency in reviewing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- You possess a strong understanding of accounting standards such as IFRS or GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- You excel at validating capital calls, distribution calculations, and comprehensive fund records.
- You have a proven track record of working with detailed financial data and complex transactions.
- You must be able to demonstrate experience in a professional services environment.
- You are required to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies.
