What you'll do

• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within various processes.
• Develop and implement mathematical models and simulations to evaluate operational scenarios and forecast outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs, translating them into actionable analytical solutions.
• Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Utilize statistical software and programming languages to manipulate large datasets and perform complex analyses.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of different variables on operational performance.
• Support project management efforts by providing analytical insights that guide decision-making and resource allocation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in operations research and analytics to continuously enhance methodologies and tools used.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on best practices in data analysis and modeling techniques.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Assist in the development of training materials and workshops to enhance the analytical capabilities of team members.
• Engage with external partners and stakeholders to share insights and collaborate on research initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in operations research or a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as R, Python, or SAS.
• Strong understanding of optimization techniques, simulation modeling, and data analysis methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and analytically.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with military operations or defense-related projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Experience with machine learning techniques and artificial intelligence applications in operations research.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Previous experience in a consulting role or working with government clients.
• Certification in operations research or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional) is a plus.
