What you'll do

• Collaborate with military personnel to gather and analyze mission requirements, ensuring all planning activities align with operational objectives.
• Develop detailed mission plans that encompass all necessary elements, including logistics, personnel assignments, and resource allocations.
• Utilize advanced software tools to create and modify mission planning documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with military standards.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for proposed missions, identifying potential challenges and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with various departments and external agencies to gather intelligence and operational data critical to mission success.
• Assist in the preparation of briefings and presentations for senior military officials, summarizing mission plans and expected outcomes.
• Monitor mission execution and provide real-time support to resolve any issues that arise during operations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of military protocols, regulations, and technologies relevant to mission planning.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in mission planning.
• Document all planning processes and outcomes to ensure accountability and facilitate future mission planning efforts.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of mission planning operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as logistics, operations management, or military studies.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mission planning or a related support role within a military or defense environment.
• Strong understanding of military operations, protocols, and mission planning processes.
• Proficiency in mission planning software and tools, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work and security clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working directly with military personnel or in a defense contracting environment.
• Familiarity with specific mission planning software such as Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) or similar tools.
• Certification in project management or a related field.
• Knowledge of current military technologies and trends impacting mission planning.
• Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies within a military context.
