About the role
The Director of Solution Engineering will provide solution engineering support for HubSpot customers across a diverse set of industries and use cases. On this team, you will drive customer success and adoption of the HubSpot platform by acting as a trusted technical advisor during critical buying and implementation phases. You will collaborate closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and HubSpot capabilities. A core part of this role involves developing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations that clearly articulate value and fit. You will conduct discovery sessions to understand complex customer requirements and business objectives in depth. Based on these insights, you will perform technical assessments and design recommendations that address current and future state needs. This position will support proposal and proof-of-concept activities to validate solutions and accelerate purchasing decisions. You will also document solution designs and customer workflows to create reusable assets for internal and external stakeholders. Importantly, you will advocate for customer needs within the HubSpot organization to influence product direction and enhancements. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between customer expectations and the HubSpot platform's evolving capabilities.

What you'll do

Requirements
You need proven solution engineering or pre-sales engineering experience, with a track record of driving technical decisions in complex sales environments. You need a strong understanding of the HubSpot CRM and Customer Platform, including its architecture, modules, and extensibility points. You need experience integrating marketing, sales, and service software to create cohesive end-to-end customer journeys. You need excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You need the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions that leverage HubSpot's capabilities effectively. You need experience conducting discovery sessions and requirements gathering to clarify needs and scope accurately. You need experience supporting RFP and proposal processes, including responding to security and compliance questionnaires. You need experience delivering technical demonstrations and proof-of-concepts that showcase platform value and feasibility. You need experience documenting solution designs, workflows, and integration patterns to ensure clarity and repeatability. You need experience collaborating with sales, product, and customer success teams to align strategies and execution. You need a deep familiarity with the HubSpot ecosystem, including its approach to integrations, APIs, and data models. You need a history of working in enterprise software environments where consultative selling and technical credibility are essential.
