What you'll do

1. Provide individualized supports and interventions to ensure client success in community employment placements.

2. Conduct comprehensive evaluations, deliver training, establish goals, and perform follow-up services to guarantee long-term job retention.

3. Serve as the primary liaison with employers, delivering necessary training and support while consulting on all employment-related issues.

4. Monitor the progress of assigned clients, providing advocacy and appropriate referrals when necessary.

5. Assist clients with workplace accommodations and ADA-related concerns to ensure compliance and success.

6. Strictly comply with all employer policies and procedures while assigned to their locations.

7. Represent Hope Services with professionalism in the community, maintaining positive relationships with family members, employers, and funding sources.

1. Complete all mandated reports and documentation, ensuring case files are complete and accurate, including preparing individualized service plans.

9. Uphold the highest standards of safety and confidentiality as defined by the Agency and departmental protocols.

10. Work independently within the community to develop and implement instructional plans, social skill training, and necessary interventions.

11. Perform task analysis and time studies for wage evaluations as required by the Department of Labor.

12. Act as a mandated reporter for abuse, adhering to all legal and ethical obligations.

13. Flexibly adapt to varying work assignments, hours, and locations to meet the evolving needs of contracting employers.

14. Perform any additional duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the program.

Requirements

The Job Coach should possess a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent plus one year of related experience or an approved combination of education and work experience. A clear driving record and a valid Driver's License are mandatory for this position. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand and relate to individuals with disabilities, their families, the community, and HOPE personnel. They must show flexibility in scheduling work hours, location, and the type of assignments across the greater service region. Strong observational skills are required to evaluate, document, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The individual must be capable of accepting supervision and working cooperatively as a team member with all Employment Services staff, clients, and employers. They must possess the ability to teach good work habits and social skills to individuals with developmental disabilities in diverse environments. Critical thinking, excellent organizational abilities, and sound independent judgment are essential for success in this role. Basic computer knowledge is necessary to perform essential functions. The candidate must be proficient in performing all duties associated with time study development. A deep knowledge and commitment to the principles and concepts of normalization are required. The ability to be flexible with scheduling and prioritization of tasks is crucial. Finally, the candidate must be able to transport self and clients to multiple employer locations as needed.
