What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to the specific needs of Holtbrothersinc.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable standards.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with management to investigate workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and management alike.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in safety regulations, adjusting company policies and training programs as necessary to remain compliant.
- Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to promote awareness and engagement among employees regarding safety practices and initiatives.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
- Collaborate with external agencies and safety organizations to enhance safety practices and stay informed about best practices in the industry.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement, presenting findings to management and recommending actionable strategies.
- Champion a culture of safety across all levels of the organization, encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and feedback on safety practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety coordinator or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven ability to conduct safety audits and risk assessments effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools for data tracking and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data and make informed decisions.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus but not mandatory.
Nice to have
- Experience with incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a safety team.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR, with certification preferred.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are advantageous.
