Principal Engineer (Fullstack/Backend)

We are seeking a highly experienced technical leader to steer our architectural vision and foster innovation within our engineering teams. This position is in shaping our long-term technical roadmap, empowering teams to construct scalable systems, and ensuring that our engineering initiatives are in sync with business objectives. You will play a crucial role in guiding the technical direction of our organization while mentoring other engineers.

• Develop and refine the architectural strategy for customer-facing platforms, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall mission and addresses future scalability and system integration needs.
• Set and promote best practices and frameworks that uphold high standards of quality, resilience, and operational efficiency throughout the engineering organization.
• Work closely with product and engineering leadership to shape product direction, ensuring that the architecture effectively supports strategic business objectives.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on architecture and the delivery of large-scale backend systems.
• Proven ability to influence technical strategy and lead cross-functional technical initiatives at an organizational level.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, or Go, along with a solid understanding of system design principles for performance and scalability.
• Full-stack development experience, including frontend work with modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and GraphQL.
• Demonstrated success in introducing and scaling shared infrastructure, frameworks, or libraries across multiple development teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes (e.g., CircleCI, GitHub), cloud platforms (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tools (e.g., Datadog).
• A history of driving architectural clarity and technical alignment across different departments within an organization.
• Experience in translating customer and clinical requirements into reliable, maintainable, and impactful technical solutions.
• Proven track record of enhancing developer experience, team productivity, and system sustainability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various functions.
• Experience in mentoring and developing senior engineering talent, as well as shaping hiring and development processes.
