In this position, you will be responsible for shaping the product vision and strategy for Raven, Heron Power's comprehensive suite of business applications. This platform is essential for managing various aspects of the company, including supply chain logistics, factory operations, and administrative functions. Your role will encompass both strategic oversight and hands-on implementation, ensuring that the product meets the evolving needs of the organization.

What you'll do
- Formulate the overarching product strategy, roadmap, and implementation phases for the Raven platform, which includes both internal manufacturing systems and external user interfaces.
- Identify and prioritize the requirements for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), focusing on aspects such as work orders, routing processes, recipe creation, resource allocation, and data gathering.
- Create specifications for essential modules, including Warehouse Management System (WMS), Quality Management System (QMS), production scheduling, New Product Introduction (NPI), and analytical tools.
- Oversee the integration of external systems, which encompass customer and supplier portals as well as factory floor control systems (SCADA/PLC).
- Ensure that the platform adheres to compliance and traceability standards by collecting necessary data and maintaining audit trails, working closely with quality assurance, legal, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, supply chain, quality assurance, finance, and engineering, to gather insights and align system development with user needs.
- Establish key performance indicators and return on investment metrics for system initiatives, effectively communicating platform performance and associated risks to senior leadership.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive the successful execution of product initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in product management or business systems, particularly in leading enterprise or operational software solutions within manufacturing, supply chain, or hardware sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of core manufacturing and supply chain systems, including MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, or production planning (MRP/APS).
- Proven experience in making build-versus-buy decisions regarding third-party SaaS and custom software applications.
- Strong grasp of data architecture, system integration, master data management, and traceability in interconnected systems.
- Demonstrated capability to lead intricate, cross-functional projects by influencing diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment, creating processes and systems from the ground up with limited resources.
- Exceptional communication skills, adept at articulating system trade-offs, risks, and return on investment to operational leaders and executives.
Nice to have
- Experience in establishing a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or Quality Management System (QMS) from the ground up in a scaling production setting.
- A background in power electronics, energy conversion, or capital equipment manufacturing, with an understanding of high-voltage or high-power hardware challenges.
- Hands-on experience with specific platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle (ERP/finance), CRM, or procure-to-pay systems.
- Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and the systems that facilitate the transition from prototype development to mass production.
- Experience with analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing, including the ability to define reports and dashboards for operational and executive use.
- Technical knowledge of APIs, integration methodologies, and SQL sufficient to engage in discussions about architecture and data decisions with engineering teams, including MES-to-SCADA/PLC connectivity.
