Associate Facilities Manager

About the Role

Hermeus seeks an Associate Facilities Manager to serve as the operational anchor for our Los Angeles facilities portfolio. This position is responsible for the tangible condition and functional readiness of our sites, which host manufacturing, engineering, test, and administrative activities. You will ensure that every environment remains safe, orderly, and resilient enough to support the rigorous cadence of high-speed aerospace development. The role demands direct engagement with the physical work environment, from resolving immediate maintenance needs to enabling long-term operational capacity. You will act as the central point of contact and execution for all facility-based requirements, ensuring that teams can focus on their core technical work without interruption.

This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities and requires a proactive, disciplined approach to complex, multi-site management. You will translate strategic facility goals into daily actions and verifiable outcomes. Success in this position is defined by the seamless operation of our infrastructure, the satisfaction of our internal stakeholders, and the preservation of a secure and efficient operational baseline. The Associate Facilities Manager is a critical partner in sustaining the speed and reliability that define Hermeus operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will drive the intake and classification of all facility requests, ensuring each need is routed to the correct internal specialist or external resource. This involves initial assessment, prioritization, and clear communication to prevent operational delays. You will then construct detailed work scopes and integrated schedules, orchestrating multiple vendors across several facilities to maintain workflow continuity.

A core duty is the oversight of contractor performance and site progress. You will review invoices against contracted agreements and conduct verification checks to confirm that delivered work meets specifications and timelines. You will own shipping and receiving readiness procedures, performing checks that guarantee production spaces remain available and undisturbed for incoming crews.

Security, access control, and communication systems are vital components of the aerospace environment. You will partner closely with security personnel, IT leadership, and workplace operations to align site access protocols, camera coverage, and communication infrastructure. This collaboration ensures that safety and data integrity standards are upheld across all sites.

You will guide and support space planning initiatives, analyzing evolving manufacturing and office flows to recommend adjustments that enhance efficiency. This includes managing relationships with landlords and service providers, documenting their performance, and leveraging this data to inform future site selection and requirements. You will maintain and update project dashboards, providing leadership with clear, current visibility into the status of every facility initiative.

Requirements

The candidate must possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in facilities management or operations, with demonstrable success in hands-on, tactical execution. You must have a proven track record of managing multiple locations simultaneously and handling a diverse range of maintenance activities. Experience coordinating various trades, vendors, and contractors while meticulously tracking schedules and budgets is essential.

You must be capable of performing on-call duties and responding rapidly to facility issues as they arise, day or night. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interface effectively with internal partners across production, engineering, test, security, and IT. A foundational understanding of aerospace environments and the unique demands of rapid iteration and testing is highly valued.
